Camus' and Voltaire's 2012 Election's Decision

As an absurdist, Camus sees no true meaning in life. Throughout his book, The Stranger, he constantly emphasizes on the daily pleasures of life and how every human is simply just existing. Meursault, in the book, states that "every life is as good as another".  In the end, everyone dies and there is no real point in any additional ambitions to strive harder and go farther in life. He believes that there is no true impact to one's life even if the president or government were to change. Therefore, I don't think Camus would vote.

Voltaire is a more complex person to detect. In Candide, he satirizes many aspects of life, such as greed, wealth, optimism, and violence. In the book, army life was depicted as an evil group of people constantly torturing and unjustly beating people. Later, throughout the book, almost all of the characters have faced many violent encounters. Candide, himself, killed three men, without too much thought when doing it. I think because of this, Voltaire would vote for the Green Party because of how the party enforces equality, peace, and nonviolence. However, I feel that Voltaire might also have a chance of voting for the Democratic Party because of the equal wealth distribution and how they
